Geocaching

The Whitefish Chain of Lakes Region is set amidst hundreds of geocaches ready for the beginner and experienced geocacher alike to find.

What is geocaching? Geocaching is a family-friendly, outdoor sport that involves entering Global Positioning System (GPS) coordinates into a GPS unit and searching for camouflaged containers, or caches, in interesting places. It's like an electronic scavenger hunt.

The Paul Bunyan Scenic Byway Association hosted a summer geocaching event along the Paul Bunyan Scenic Byway driving route in 2009 and 2010 — Paul & Babe's GeoHunt.  The Byway Association is currently seeking funding sources to replace those that were lost in 2011. Therefore, although the event will not take place in 2011. Sstay tuned for information about the 2012 Paul and Babe's GeoHunt.
